CLP Regulation

Private label products offer customers an excellent opportunity to establish or strengthen their brand name – but caution is advised!
On July 1, 2026, an amendment to the European CLP Regulation will come into force, which will impact product labeling, among other things.

The CLP Regulation specifically applies to chemical substances and mixtures and governs the classification of various products into different hazard categories. Its aim is to provide consistent information to consumers about hazardous substances.

For all new products placed on the market from July 1, 2026, strict warning label requirements will apply. For existing products, a deadline of January 1, 2027 applies – with a transition period until December 31, 2028.
